Blackness, queerness, disabilities, or being a part of any other minority doesn’t excuse being a billionaire.

I mean...people need things. Education, medicine, healthcare, debt relief, food, housing, etc.

If people need stuff why wouldn't we take it from the other people who are hoarding more stuff than they could ever use?

You're stinky

"“We’re not gonna be tricked out of our position,” he said. “Y’all locked us out. Y’all created a system that, you know, doesn’t include us."

I can't imagine coming from nothing, yet not wanting to change the system,  so that other people don't also have to struggle. Selfish. This is why people detest billionaires

Since you didn't bother to do any research about what philanthropy Jay Z has done over his career, here's a resource for you.

You don't need to be a billionaire to google something before you run your mouth on a topic about which you clearly know nothing. It's free.

hahaha just like Clintons are activists. Jay Z hasn't even been able to defend a man who took the knee because he was tied to NFL and would rather make money than defend an important cause and a brave gesture.

Not saying Jay Z is all evil, but complaining about having to give away your money as a rich man to tackle inequality is an odd take, much weirder is defending a man who does it.

By the way next time, talk to me respectfully cause im not ur bitch

People seems to forget that he was poor and lived in a project once upon a time. He certainly allowed to talk on this matter based on his experience and perspective, and perhaps defend his position now, he worked for it. Not like the one talking these are The Kardashians or such

It's wild to me that so many rich people can't even begin to understand that their wealth is a problem, I doubt they can even grasp the concept of living paycheck to paycheck and let's not even get started on having a full time Job.

The system is rigged in favor of him and other likes him and only gets worse every year.

Even if he worked hard for it that's still indecent of him to be annoyed at people who merely want super wealthy people to pay their fair share no?

He's more deserving than heirs for sure but if we don't force for way more wealth distribution then things will sadly stay the same more or less.

I think it’s because I’m many ways, to be a Black billionaire is still to be Black, you know? You’re treated differently to others with ungodly amounts of wealth. So in his world (rich people) he’s still Black so he doesn’t quite get what a vaulted position he’s in.

i think he’s a little narrow-minded but I think it makes a lot of sense where it comes from *especially* coming from nothing. He started living lavishly and enjoying life after hardship and now is like why are people coming for me when I’m still a Black man in this world of elites?

I wholly believe in redistributing wealth and not having billionaires,  I’m just saying I get where it’s coming from. It’s not hard to imagine, just sad how racism in America splinters and complicates a conception of class consciousness.

the ire is actually still on wealthy americans, ironically enough, but I think the solution to his ire is not to accumulate more wealth for himself but to spread it around to raise up the community to take down American institutions. That said, I think there’s an element of pride that comes from navigating a space you know you “shouldn’t be in” so again, it’s like…is it the most helpful thing? No. Is it selfish? I mean yeah lol but I think it’s way more complicated than some old money rich white person. Even the rich have intersectionality to contend with :laughga:
