ARTPOP - What Songs competed with one Another?

Hello Little Monsters,

I was thinking about making a Thread of the scrapped ARTPOP Songs so far.

As I remember, Many Songs were competing with one another, so at the end the ones we know made the final cut.

With the Songs in 2nd Place, I would like to imagine the ARTPOP ACT II that could have been. 

Do any of you know which of the scrapped songs were competing with the final ones?

I think it’s more like there was different track lists she was making vs. the one we have now

There were definitely some songs competing with each other. It was like this:

This is an early ARTPOP draft from January 2013 according to Farhan (the person who leaked all those ARTPOP demos)

Sexxx Dreams was originally just titled “Sex Dreams” when she first made it in 2012 but then towards the end of the album process she finally decided to add 3 ‘X’ in the title

I don't remember exactly what it was but I know it was messy like, "MANiCURE comes after Dope in the middle of the album" messy

I never knew that, I changed my tracklist years ago to start with G.U.Y since it begins with "greetings"

I don’t think many tracks were competing at all, I think she knew the songs she wanted for the final cut since 2012 and then new tracks came later like Applause and Brooklyn Nights and she had to choose either keep the “original” ones or add the new ones

Applause and Brooklyn Nights aren’t that new. I was told that Applause was made in September 2012 and Brooklyn Nights was made in November/December 2012. So they were part of the “ARTPOP 1.0” pack

This. I think the only really new ones were Dope and Venus, which is crazy because imagine an ARTPOP without Venus on

To be fair, I think Applause is a WEAK closer. It sounds so empty after Gypsy
