They’ve also stated they don’t plan on developing any scripted shows for their new streaming service (they will only be developed for cable HBO) and instead focus on what they deem as the more $uccessful side which is unscripted reality. Everyone knows reality tv is dirt cheap to produce unless you’re paying contracts like Real Housewives (which Discovery exploits the lower middle class and does not pay them accordingly) so obviously this is a cost cutting measure.
