The whole thing is either just him or her singing alongside him and their voices are mixed together. Why doesn’t she have even one verse to herself? Or one chorus to herself? Dua had way more solo time. Britney really does just sound like a “background singer” here. If I was her and had recorded a verse and then heard that the final mix had Elton all over my every line and given me no solos at all, I would be mad too. This was touted as her big musical comeback. There are two lines very starkly of just Elton and I thought he should at least let her have the next lines on her own, but no he has to sing through those too. His solo refrain also opens the song and I thought we’d hear Britney get a chance there too but no. I enjoyed the song until I came here and now I’m laser focused on ever vocal from Britney. Maybe her comeback isn’t some powerhouse, I’m making a statement moment, f everyone! I think considering the last decade…it makes sense? Calm down. *also, the entire first verse is largely her vocals…it’s not hard to hear this. Am I the only one who feels like Britney has more prominent vocals throughout the song and not the other way around? She doesn’t have a solo moment but her vocals are much more forward in the mix in verse one, Elton sounds like background vocals for a lot of the first chunk of the song.
