Despite the fact the North America has among the cheapest Gas in the developed World, Canadians and Americans still spend a higher share of their income on gasoline/diesel than the rest of their G7 Counterparts given a higher addiction to SUVs, Light Trucks and the prominence of sprawl Suburban cities with poorer transit

Percentage of income spent on Fuel:

Canada: 4.4%

USA: 3%

Japan: 1.3%

UK: 1.3%

Germany: 1.1%

Italy: 1%

France: 0.7%

Not surprised since Canada typically underpays people and overcharges them so :messga:

I don't think it has anything to do with that. Canada's wages aren't the lowest in the G7 and we are definitely not overcharged (on fuel).

In fact I'm pretty sure only the US of the G7 Countries has cheaper Gasoline than Canada

I think it has more to do with the fact that we drive about as much as Americans with few taking public transport but then our fuel is still more expensive than in America (despite still being cheaper than in the EU)

I 100% blame the Canadian government for making us top of that list. :saladga: I don't think anybody can have a comfy life in Canada without a car unless you live in Toronto...I know quite an amount of people who drive 1-2 hours one way to work because they can't afford reasonable housing or rent close by.

It's vroom vroom, bish :bradley:

Even with whatever public transports available in downtown area, I still won't ride them. Not in Murica. No thanks.
Nothing like finding used needles in the gap between the seats or backrest. That is too wild for me.

I'm shocked tbh. I always why Americans (even on this site) complained so much about gasoline prices while they a ereasily 3-4 times higher where I live and people rarely complain, but this makes sense.
