Can’t say anything about that cuz I am not an investigator, but I’ll stick to my opinion that nobody, no matter if rich or poor, deserves to go to prison for 8 years because of this - out of the reasons I have mentioned in my other post. I respect everyone who thinks otherwise, but this is just my personal opinion.  And I’m not a Shakira fan in any way

That's very latin american of her to not pay taxes. You USA citizens think only rich people avoid taxes but in latin america almost everybody does in different ways. Also in most countries like Mexico is more common for rich and upper middle class people to pay taxes, poor usually don't do it. Obviously is not legal but it happens.

They'll definitely settle. She'll pay a big sum and avoid actually going to jail. Worst case scenario she might get put on probation or house arrest or something. It would be so ironic to be imprisoned in your own mansion that you refused to pay taxes on
