But Beyoncé uses a lot of black music influences and is supposed to not sound like a mainstream dance album. As such some will hate or love it. I’m undecided yet but only listened to it once. I think when rumors about Beyoncé making a house record started floating around, people assumed this would be like Chromatica or even Future Nostalgia / Kylie Minogue's Disco upbeat dance music. This is more around Beyoncé's signature sound but influenced by a lot of black artists from 70's, 80's and 90's classics. There's a little bit of house, disco, funk, soul?, etc. I'm not a music expert but this is just from my first listen. Honestly it's quite an interesting project, you should give it a try, this comes from just a casual Beyoncé listener. If you want a general idea of what it sounds like, you should give these songs a listen: Cozy, Virgo's Groove, Thique and Pure/Honey are highlights in my opinion, other than Break My Soul.
