I’m on Prep and I’ve never used it as an excuse to avoid other precautions. my doctor literally requires me to get a full STI screening every 3 months in order to receive a new prescription. PrEP is ultimately an important factor in keeping HIV transmission amongst gay men reasonably low, that's not to say some individuals don't abuse it (some do sadly), but this isn't the kind of talking point we should be reinforcing when republicans WANT to paint men who have sex with men as sexually deviant perverts... You do realize that condoms aren't 100%, right? Condoms are estimated to be 90% effective in reducing HIV and STD transmission, which is great! However, it is NOT 100% either. Considering what you just said you shouldn't be a fan of condoms either. So, should we just ban condoms too? Every precaution taken to prevent the spread of HIV is great, regardless of how much you're not a "fan" of it. Striking PrEP down will only make things worse for us and give conservatives a better grip around the LGBT community's neck. Your support for something like this gives these Republicans more power because you capitulate in order to take a higher seat above every other gay man. Be more mindful, dude. There’s no greater hate than Christian love for sure. And in their minds they believe that the US should solely be a Christian nation. It’s disgusting how they dismiss anyone who looks different or thinks differently as either some sort of abomination or a groomer or sicko like Donald Trump just ranted at some rally this week (he went on and on about how LGTBQ people are sickos and need to be stopped from sexualizing underaged children). Straight men forced gay men to hide their sexuality for 4 decades and caused the spread of HIV in the first place. And although gay people and straight people have the same amount of sex, gay men should live with the consequences of their sins. It just is beyond me how people still don't use rubbers. It's been shoven down our throats ever since school. And still.... I just can't understand it. I am not saying I am pro this article. Just stating I am not a fan of the medicine because MANY seem to see it as the holy grail to f.ck unsafe.
