Is Alice the best song on Chromatica?

It was my 1st favorite song of the album... it's superior! I ****ing love it.

 

For me the best songs are Babylon, Alice and Replay

why are people saying it has no second verse when it clearly does? If anything, it doesn't have a proper bridge

It's actually one of the worst imo

Lyrically: interesting concept, even though the "Alice in Wonderland" thing's been done to death. But, the song is way too short. It's not even half a song. It opens with the chorus, there's a verse that's legitimately only two lines , a prechorus that's mostly gibberish, the chorus again, a badass bridge (I'll give her that), another chorus, then the ending is just a repeat of the adlibs that came after the very first chorus. Then...the song's over

Production wise: Meh. The drums sound like they're from a cheap sample pack, everything else feels so shallow, like the song itself feels hollow. Or, maybe too minimalist. Idk. The big "drop", that dancy chorus, literally sounds the same as the rest of the song but with more hihats. There's songs, like ARTPOP, that intentionally "go nowhere" with their production and even they have more of a climax than Alice does.

Vocally: definitely a strong song but she has better. Even on this album. Rain on Me, Free Woman, Fun Tonight, Enigma, Sine From Above, and 1000 Doves all have better examples of her raw talent.

Alice is the black sheep of the album for me. Sour Candy is still my least favorite but Alice is the one that I feel just adds nothing to the project as a whole. Every song has its niche but Alice is just kinda...there

How to fix it:

Write a whole song  An actual introduction that's not just a stripped chorus. Two verses, both at least four lines long. A longer prechorus. Chorus and bridge are fine. Have an actual reprisal of the better elements of the song for the ending. More original and fleshed out production 'cause that song seriously lacks body.

Otherwise, having Chromatica I skip right to Stupid Love is what I'd do with the album's tracklist

Keep in mind Chromatica is probably my least favorite album now so  I just see so many flaws with how it was made and it's wild how Gaga poured her heart into an album that, to me, just comes off as kinda soulless and more empty every time I hear it.

Jokes aside I completely understand what you mean about the song production and your perception about the Chromatica as a whole though 

and you like ARTPOP so I’ll give you that
