Coal Burning has reached an all-time record as a result of Russia and Ukraine conflict which resulted in Natural Gas Shortage

Coal is way more toxic and emits way more CO2 emissions per unit of energy than Natural Gas and so Natural Gas has been seen as the lesser of evils among fossil fuels however due to the shortage many Coal Plants that were closed or reduced in operation have been brought back to fill the gap

A few Natural Gas Plants were also converted to burn Crude Oil as well, a more uncommon way to generate electricity

i'm just worried about how the heck things will run 50 years from now when we will be old AF and we will need electricity to be working properly all the damn time for our ventilators and ish yet they have not developed natural energy resources enough because they STILL keep using and pushing coal, natural gas, oil etc...

our governments need to be funding like CRAZY projects to switch us to clean energy sources quickly AND to also make sure our scientists can develop reliable clean energy sources that can provide us the same quality of life we have right now while using these toxic resources

I don't think most ppl will be using ventilators lol. As someone who worked many years in very dirty and dusty and smoky industrial environments and saw most ppl somehow reach retirement age without breathing problems... The general population that doesn't work these jobs still breathes way less crap from general pollution alone...

I think the main risk group is still smokers lol

But back OT yeah for sure... Our quality of life will definitely decline a lot. I think the biggest one of all will be food. The erradic weather will cause so much crop losses that I think the recent food inflation is just getting started. There may be short term improvement in food prices if Russia's war calms down or ends but the longer term general trend will be more expensive food :(

I do think in terms of electricity it is a challange we can handle. It may be tough but many nations are already mostly operating on renewables so it is doable. But I think the shortages of resources as a whole and food especially will be difficult to avoid

Angemon

The italian government has decided to reactivate all the coal plants (there are 7). That's the real problem, not how often Drake and Kylie Jenner use their private jet ;)
