Like phase one (from an average viewer's perspective) was just a bunch of fun superhero movies that then happened to connect and were mostly all quality films with enough time to digest in between. In phase 4 a lot of knowledge is already expected going into each film and tv show so for a casual fan (like me) it is becoming difficult to keep up and the quality of a lot of the movies and tv shows are not up to par and constantly being thrown at you. Like many ppl have pointed out the MCU is running into the problem a that their comics did, it is becoming too complex and alienates the average customer. I do appreciate however for bigger fans of the franchise this is probably very exciting as they can see the pieces being put together (as you explained) which that is very cool Yeah honestly most of the quality is sub-par. Even Doctor Strange, which I enjoyed, was kinda…straightforward(?) at times? And the characters felt a bit hollow. Like comparing that Wanda to Wandavision Wanda I was like oh uhhh on its own merits, this movie has written basically a Karen lmao sure, I get the series had more time and all that but even episode by episode Wanda felt a bit more…respected(?) as a character. In MoM she felt like a bit of a caricature villain and kinda hollow. And I think that’s a bit of the problem in most of the Phase 4 stuff. It feels thin AND convoluted lmao

Thats why they revealed part of phase 6 at SDCC instead of D23, they’ll probably reveal the rest of phase 6 at D23 in September. 2 hours ago, B2theRich33 said: I kind of hope that the casting announcement isn’t made… if that rumor is true for a post credit scene… I want to be completely shocked to see whoever the f4 are. The cast announcement will only happen if they’re 100% in the AMATWQ post credit, because they‘ll just get leaked when filming.

I'm not sure tbh. It's supposed to be a continuation, as in they're the same characters, but also sort of a reboot, because previous storylines don't really matter. It's kind of confusing, so I hope they tell us at some point more. But honestly, Daredevil and Jessica Jones are fantastic. The rest of the Defenders saga you can skip. For example, Sam Raimi admitted he didn’t watch Wandavision, nor read an outline of the comic stories influencing the movie. And Feige is moving away from hiring big directors according to the directorial credits for the movies coming in Phase 5 so I believe he’s learned his lesson. Yeah see that’s good because some of Phase 4 really has just been wafer thin. But honestly even in within its own movie, I was like oh uh this is a thin character without a whole lot going on. I feel like if you’re going to do these big franchise movies, you have to on some level understand that there’s an element of improv to it in that your movie is a “yes and” from the one that preceded it. Like Wanda needed to be more than a horror movie villain because she has a LOT of backstory at this point. It’s not so much that Raimi ignored that as much as he didn’t really factor in its importance in the execution.
