I like it! It's not my style of music I'd listen to all the time, but the lyrics are very relatable.

It's really good! I love the sound of metal :firega:

Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.

I love it, Oriane! The lyrics are relatable, and you sound very badass. Do you also play the instruments?

i had to replay the intro like five times becauae how did you just sneak the heavy metal in there out of nowhere? it remided me of lana del rey mariner's apartment complex when it so smoothly goes from piano to acoustic guitar but you did it with metal and somehow pulled it off.

Spoiler

at first i did not like the overlapping voices but with the lyrics it became obvious quickly to me that it's your inner thoughts and having them shout out at you from one ear to another was really effective in creating that self-talk/in my head feeling.

now the bridge.... THE BRIDGE

i thought after the hard tough everyone hates me it was gonna build up into the last chorus like a regular pop song but then you stripped it down into the emotional reveal which i did not expect at all right in the culmination of this metal song. so then i was like "oh i see, she's gonna leave it on a vulnerable soft ending," but then the second part of the bridge become a slow burn and finally took us back into the final intense metal outro.

the genre blending really reminds me of rina sawayama's work, specifically STFU! where she goes from baby voice to screeching metal.

Spoiler

i really liked the juxtaposition of heavy metal with the children's story of the ugly duckling, but you really made sense of it especially with the rejection of both the duck and swan family in the bridge. also just realizing now how the song started off slow and kind of introduced us to the metal sound to come, but really it was giving us a preview of the breakdown and slowburn to come in the second half of the bridge.

overall LOVED this. it was not what i expected at all but was so brilliantly satisfying. my highlights were the lyrics and the bridge.

hard to even fathom which parts you should believe

Love the call and response you do in the verses, I think the second verse is my favorite!

Aaah, I didn't do the instruments, I can thank my producer for that! :D
For every song, I describe to him exactly what I have in mind for the song, how it would sound, how the structure would be, and I give him musical references. Then, based on that and my acapella, he can create the instrumental and I then sing on it. That's a really cool process and I think he had fun working on this one!

@chromatic puzea Your analysis of my music is just always on point, it's like you're in my head :bradley:

I really wanted a fairytale-like sound to the song, while still being metal, and the result is great I think!

And that's interesting, I was actually really inspired by Rina's work, not only for this song but for a great part of the album that the song will be on! While it wasn't a direct reference for this song, I always had her work in mind. I was really inspired by her music as well as Babymetal, since they both have this mix of hard and soft sounds. So I'm really glad that you saw the inspiration!

It sounds really good! I don't normally listen this type of music but I really like the double voices, and the bridge lyrics are so touching :fatcat:

I could see that harder rock sounds were where you were headed for a while, so it's good to see you living up to your potential. I didn't expect such a long intro but it really worked to ease us into a harder sound. I think the lyric video really helped to decipher the background replies to each line because they're softer than the lead vocals (or maybe that's just me) and it can make it hard to work out what was said, especially if it's fast, so I always appreciate you providing lyrics. While I don't always like repetition in songs, I did like your outro too. I always like your angsty work so this was right in that vein. I fully intend to re-listen to your work real soon to remind me how this album's shaping up because it sounds like the best material you've made to date. You're really improving artistically over time.
