for me it's a yes and no. Yes because i've seen her with very special persons and i'll cherish those moments, yes for the pride of being there too. But no for the regrets of the good ol days.

I actually don't understand people's obsession with BTWB, yes the castle was an interesting concept but it really shined in like half of the songs from the show, the rest just changed colors and flashed random lights, not to mention no interludes at all and some of the outfits were not it

For me her best has been MBT, Gaga's energy and visuals in that era are just unmatched

Hmm. I guess nostalgia is part of it, but I don't think we can say she would get dragged in 2022 for something like TMB. The living dress alone is so theatrical and innovative that no other popstar is doing it even now.

Some of the newer stans, like the ones born after ARTPOP/Joanne tend to trash her older eras to combat the nostalgia stans thinking it makes them look mature and unbiased when in reality they look silly. Her older material was polished and still holds up.

The Chromatica Ball actually reminds me a bit of TMB but the 1.0 version, with the minimalist stage + huge screens and simple yet polished outfits for the acts, not to mention the Monster throwback.

Me personally I enjoyed her non narrative shows more, except for Enigma. My ranking is.

Enigma, Artrave, JWT, Monster Ball, BTWB

I sometimes found the narrative slows the pacing but for Enigma I feel it enhanced the experience. Also the 2nd & 3rd acts with the Fame, BTWB deep cuts and mech suit snatched my wig.

My faves are both of TMB tours (especially TMB 1.0), Artrave, TFB and TCB all are amazing in their own ways!

Nothing for me tops the BTWB, that was her magnum opus. Gaga at her best.

I genuinely do think TMB and BTWB are incredibly well put together from every standpoint, but I can also say the same of JWT which was very recent.

With TCB, it looks like an amazing show and I know the people who went do agree on one thing and it’s the fact she was incredible and the whole thing was a blast. The criticism comes from the stage, which is pretty simple compared to what’s expected of her and also because it was burdensome for some people on other sides of the stadium. But it’s still a pretty good stage, the visuals were incredible, the outfits were great, and most important of all, she herself was great.

I do think she’s improved in many performance aspects, naturally ofc she was much younger back in those days of yore. But even with the flaws of TCB it was still a damn good set and she killed it. Her energy was unmatched and she proved that even though the visual aspect is incredible but had some technical flaws, it doesn’t affect the quality of her performance, she doesn’t depend on that to put on a good show.

The point of my convoluted rambling is that TCB, while flawed, is still pretty great, her streak with her tours is still great. TMB and BTWB are genuinely incredible and it’s ok if TCB isn’t to that level. Fans should stop expecting everything to be better than x thing from 2009-2012, TCB is proof she’s still a marvelous performer with lots of energy and presence and awesome visuals. At the same time, we can think TCB isn’t her best tour as well and that’s ok. It’s still pretty great nonetheless

Honestly I think nostalgia plays a big role. The artRAVE is my favorite Gaga tour - my favorite stage, favorite outfits, just the energy is immaculate. But I’m also incredibly biased since that was my first Gaga tour, it was my first time seeing an idol of mine, I had great seats, I was in the peak of my ARTPOP obsession, it was honestly one of the greatest days of my life. I couldn’t tell you if the Monster Ball or BTWB would have topped the artRAVE if I saw them in person. I still always feel nostalgic towards that first experience, so my memories make me look at the show more fondly.
