Letmelivemylife 8,715
Definately Gaga. She had the balls to be different. People just saw the wigs and makeup and eccentric outfits and they shut down because they didnt understand. She also changed what "i love my fans" really meant. Yes there were fanbases before gaga but little monsters was totally different. She used to look out into the crowd and see a bunch of little "hers" staring back. Deep down she needed us as much as we needed her and it was that need that attracted us to eachother like a magnet. Its a deep intense bond that can never be broken. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
bluemonkey 639
I’m gonna get hate but I disagree on Lady Gaga even though I’m a fan as music wise she has always kept up with the trends of pop music and her music has always been pop friendly. people really don’t give Janet Jackson credit as her Rhythm Nation 1814 album changed how pop music is viewed as she sung about injustice and social issues which not a lot of popstars sing about. Also, if that doesn’t convince you, the library of congress has chosen the album to be preserved for the National Recording Registry along with classic treasures like Aretha Franklin Respect. It’s that important

BehindTheAura12 212
I'd probably say Cher, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Donna Summer. for those wondering about that last one there's a really great thread somewhere on twitter that I cannot for the life of me find lmfao but her Bad Girls era was really revolutionary and set the stage for a lot of pop music today.
