Economy 52,906
https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/new-ceo-alone-won-t-fix-suncor-safety-woes-analysts-1.1790355 Canada's largest energy company Suncor Energy which is primarily involved in Oil and Gas extraction and refining, and in recent years also began to grow in Hydrogen and Wind/Solar has had yet another fatality on their operations This is the 13th deadly accident in the company since 2019 and it is more deaths than all the other Oil companies in Canada combined There has been pressure both by investors and activists for Suncor to review and fix gaps where safety is lacking. Upon the news of the death the CEO has resigned tho there is concern there is little that will change in its own as the checkered safety history is deep rooted in the companies operating culture.
