I actually feel the exact opposite about this point. The fact that Reputation and Folklore are only a few years apart is pretty incredible. Couldn’t be more of a polar opposite in terms of visuals, genre, and musical direction. Same goes for Speak Now and 1989. But I feel like the prior comparison is even more impressive. She is very relatable to the average person compared to most artists. And her biggest strength - her songwriting. No major artist today has the ability to write lyrics like Taylor. She has improved consistntly and only getting better. Weaknesses - shes too basic and her personality is a bit boring overall. Song are fun and catchy but not so experimental. She plays it too safe. Her biggest weakness is definitely that she has never put out anything that you can strictly associate with her. Everything seems to be copied by other artists and done 100x times worse. She can't sing and lately she's pretending to be the best songwriter/storyteller ever. This is why her music is boring and has no fire, because so she is. Following a trend (reputation) and making a boring folk album with Jack Antonoff's cheap and stripped down instrumentals is not a proof of versatility at all. It's also pretty suspicious as she went this route right after Lana released NFR (and got so much critical acclaim) and was about to release COCC.
