It looks like relations continue to sour between Kazakhstan and Russia. Russia just shut down Kazakhstan's main pipeline that allows it to export oil to the international market (particularly Europe)

In subtle retaliation, Kazakhstan just announced today that they are withdrawing from the Russian CIS Agreement.

Could Kazakhstan be the next former soviet state to be targeted by Putin?

If this comes to fruition Kazakhistan can transport their resources through Caspian-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe route. Infrastructure is partly there. Would be a good middle finger to Russia from ex-Soviet countries.

Also, Moscow has to take note that the Baikonur Cosmodrome is in Kazakhstan, this where most of the Russian space stuff is launched.

Russia pressing the rest of the world’s buttons again.  In a time they may need allies, it’s really not a good idea to be building such a large majority of countries against you :billie:
