Being against contraception is SUCH an antiquated way of thinking and it's wildly unpopular now. So...what's their goal? I refuse to believe these morons actually hold any religious beliefs. But their cruelty can usually be explained by them pandering to the religious extremist voters...but even they don't support banning freaking birth control in numbers large enough to make this beneficial. I'm praying what we're witnessing now is the GOP pissing away their 2022 chances. Whimsical bitch

An impeachment of a federal judge requires a 67% of senate votes, i.e. we would need to get 17 Republican senators to pull it off right now. Source: https://www.ajs.org/how-to-impeach-a-supreme-court-justice/ The last federal judge impeached was Thomas Porteous: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Porteous#Impeachment In 1969, Abe Fortas resigned from the Supreme Court under threat of impeachment; no Supreme Court justice has been impeached and removed from the court yet (we got close with Samuel Chase back in 1804, but the final Senate vote was 18 for removal-16 against removal). I had an IUD for 7 years up until the time I started trying to get pregnant. At first, I had it for medical reasons. Maybe these men (and women that support this) should experience super heavy and painful periods that can keep you in bed all day to understand that not all birth control is because of contraception. But even if it is this is just so crazy. Which they think abortions are only done for contraception too so I shouldn’t be surprised. she/her/hers
RAMROD 117,085
A sad day. And this set precedent that every other laws that those archaic conservatives don't like will try to undo next. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
MANiCURE 6 10,306
I feel like many of these problems come from the lack of education of some Americans (Republicans lmao). I'm willing to bet a lot of "pro life" don't even know how pregnancy works and how a fetus develops. Just as much as they don't know how abortion works.. Maybe they think the baby as it is at birth is identical and present in the womb since day 1..
MelbHawker 6,583
Democracy is basically dead in America.. if it wasn’t clear enough before today. Imagine if Hillary Clinton had been elected. America would’ve been in such a different place. I find it criminal that these Supreme Court justices take no issue in deciding what millions of women can do to their bodies and inevitably if millions of people can marry but somehow aren’t interested in using their power to deal with America’s out of control gun issue.. it’s just sad & fully criminal. Abortions won’t stop, it’s just going to see unsafe abortion rates soar to never before seen levels. It’s going to hurt so many women who attempt a self abortion & children who will be born into poverty / unsafe & unstable environments.. it’s just horrific to try & imagine the consequences of the decision. My heart goes out to all the women of America.
Karl 3,575
Isn't there something in the US constitution saying religion has to be seperate from law? Surely this would fall under that?
RenegAde 20,558
I'm not completely sure how legistlation works in the US but could this have been avoided with the amendment of the constitution during the Obamas tenure or a supreme legislation regulating abortion?. Its wierd how one of the most controvertial topics in the US was backed merely by Judicial authority.
Joshie 790
Absolutely abhorrent day for women in America, and women on a global level because no doubt if America can do it, then so can others. It also ****ing gets under my skin that Clarencey Thomina, a part of a another repressed minority with its own problems dares speak out against the LGBT community. Wankstain. How can one be so blindsided and dumb makes me sad
