Biden needs to sign an executive order sending federally hired abortion doctors into these states. F*ck the courts, don’t stop no matter what they say.

Can someone explain to me in the fresh hell do Florida and Georgia think they're doing? These two states have some of the highest rates of abortions performed! Whose interest are these states serving by banning and criminalizing abortion?

I guess abortion tourism for those who are financially able is going to be a thing for people seeking abortions living in those states. What of the people who can't afford that?

Who half of which will then ban it 100%, I mean they could've used better wording but

This just seems like states will go back and forth on abortion and gay marriage every time the controlling party gets elected :saladga:

I am FURIOUS even if I'm not american, but I'm ****ing furious (and since the right wing will win the elections in pretty much every country this will soon be an european problem too). Like we are going BACK to the middle ages, how THE HELL did this happen? why are we watching without doing a thing? People in the last decades rioted to get their rights, what are we doing now? I'm absolutely disgusted

People are jus more worried about their status, reputation and pictures on social media nowadays.

Still as relevant as ever.

Any talks about prenatal care? Medical coverage for the baby? Affordable Housing? Affordable nutritious food? Safety? Climate change?  Pollution? Discrimination? Racism? Sexism?

Pro-birth people just care about a fetus being born but DO NOT CARE after it is born. Enough of these un-Christ like “Christians” thinking their fake righteousness should be the rules for everyone.

can someone explain to me why do Americans (Republicans I guess) care about a fetus but not after the child is born as explained above? Like is it a being moral sort of things tied with religion same as the are ant-gay marriage or adoption or whatever? I don't get it

Because it’s convenient and makes them feel like a superior person.

Honestly I'm mad at Democrats for this one too. How many rights are we going to see pissed away before they decide to play the game with the ferocity that Repugnants do?

We control the executive and legislative branches of government and yet Republicans stay winning.

Democrats have had ample chances to codify abortion rights, same sex marriage rights, contraceptive and fertility rights but they just let the SCOTUS decisions sit there.

F*ck this.

- Expand the court to at least 13 judges. Now.

- Impeach Trump's 3 judges for commiting purjury.

- Impeach Thomas for being an accessory to insurrection. Even if he's just married to an insurrectionist.

- Eject EVERY GODDAMN REPUBLICAN who took part in the Jan 6th insurrection attempt. Charge them with treason.

- Scrap the electoral college.

- Reaffirm, somehow, that no piece of legislation in this country can use the words "God", "Creator", or "belief". We are a secular nation, it makes no sense that these Christian c*nts can impose their outdated beliefs on the rest of us.

- Readjust states' representation in congress to accurately reflect their populations. It makes no goddamn sense that a state like Wyoming gets the same number of senators as a state like California that has 20 times the number of people.

Stop. F*cking. Around.

Can you let me know how many of these can be done with a Dem President, a 50-50 Senate, and a 220-210 House?

To impeach a supreme court justice, it seems like you need two-thirds of the senate to agree.

To overcome a fillbuster you need 60 votes in senate.

Religion plays a big part in Republicans' anti-choice, anti-same sex marriage, etc. views.

There are a ton of reasons why they don't care about anyone after they're born, but two of them are taxes and fear of socialism.

If the US government were to fund healthcare, childcare, education, food assistance, etc. it would (presumably) require higher taxes. One of the main Republican platforms is lowering taxes, so not only will they not support funding these programs, they actively work to slash the budgets of these programs to reduce government spending.

The fear of socialism is also engrained here, especially in the older conservative population. It is seen as a direct threat to capitalism and "all America stands for" (quoting conservative relatives here 🙄) and as soon as any program is proposed to improve the lives of our citizens, Republicans scream "socialism" and refuse to engage.

The Dems had a super majority in 2008 and several times before than since Roe was decided.

But even now, if Manchin and Sinema would pull their heads out of their asses we could do away with the filibuster then codify abortion rights with a simple majority.

Ejecting and trying the insurrectionists is a job for the DOJ.

As for impeaching the lying SCOTUS judges, I'm not sure if that can be done with a simple majority or not but they can damn well try.

What a sad day.... It's honestly scaring something like this happening.... This should be a right that's not up to change if it's one party or another other at power. I'm honestly sad and scared for women in a America specially in some States. As a woman this is terrifying...and i truly hope that this doesn't affect Europe or my country cause stuff like this ends up having ramifications :/

change the rule of fillbuster?

well, then in a year or three when Repbulican may have a full control of the senate or house and change the law as they like, will you take the consequences?

THIS. and also I found a good read explaining how republicans love 'the unborn' considering they can advocate for them without challenging their wealth, power or privilege. Which is so hypocritical.

 They are pro-birth not pro-life.

Omg.

Kill the filibuster.

Expand the court with real judges.

When the GOP passes something evil (and they will), have the new court strike it down.

Anything they can't strike down is likely just a difference in actual economic policy which can be combatted more easily than these egregious setbacks on human rights like we're seeing now.
