As someone who has seen her live multiple times and plans to see her in Vegas, her talking to the crowd is THE WORST.

At the California Dreams tour in San Jose California, she went on a rant how she was a “chola” in her teen years. Like girl, you’re a Caucasian woman from Santa Barbara who sang Christian music. You’re not a chola, sis. Just because you’re in a predominantly Hispanic city, doesn’t mean the fans in attendance are. And if they were, that’s kinda a weird thing to say to try and connect with them. I felt so embarrassed for her.

The hatred for Katy never ceases to amaze me as it does dishearten. Katy might not be perfect or always right but one thing she is is herself. Most pop fans and mainstream society have NEVER been here for Katy's personality as they are her music and looks which is sad considering she is quite complex and charming. "Cringe" (really camp) is a part of her brand and if you don't think after all these years she is not slightly aware of and plays into it you are willfully ignorant atop of being hypercritical.
