Galvon 1,868
I'm sorry if I sound bitter, I'm not, I'm genuinely curious. Is this hype all because of Stranger Things? I've never watched that show. But what I don't understand is, they use old music as soundtrack in movies and series all the time, why is this different to cause such hype? Edit: It's already explained to me. The scene in which it's used is excellent (according to those who have seen it at least, I haven't yet) and the music fits it perfectly. But also, the song is genius and is now being appreciated for what it is. I really don't believe that just any song would have had the same success because of ST as this one. Besides it being one of the best songs ever written, I think it's because of how it was used in the series and the story of Max and what she's going through mentally and how that situation relates to the lyrics of RUTH. The curation of the song was integral to this. By tying it to an emotionally charged scene with personal resonance, it allowed what is already an incredible song to be seen in basically a new context which gave it new life. It’s very lovely to see especially in the US where she never got her due
