It's the fact that  it's a sequel of a NON musical movie "the problem" here.

Y'all can bring out every dark musical movie that you want but the question is another one: why doing a sequel musical of something that wasn't even remotely a musical in the first place?

There are like a million viral tweets about this right now and 90% of them are happy with the prospect of Gaga playing this character, they are just confused about the musical aspect. But as usual her own fanbase likes to **** on everything she does. This thread is even worse than those incel forums.

Sorry for me as a musical it doesn’t sound good, but that’s because im not a fan of musicals and a musical for Joker especially sounds to me so corny and cheesy. I like DC because of its darkness now it will have Broadway vibes that I hate. Just ruined but whatever

I personally hope not, for several reasons but the main reason being that DCEU movies never have and never will get it right when it comes to characters. Sure, Joker 1 was good BUT they’ve had so many reboots and rewrites and recasts that I’d be scared she’d be compared far too much to Margot. Also idk if anyone remembers that one picture of her after a dinner, where she was apparently talking sh*t about Margot I just know DC fans will bring that up. Plus it being a musical sounds a mess.

If she really wants a superhero movie in her catalogue she REALLY should join the MCU as a secondary superhero like Emma Frost imo, when the X-Men finally become a thing in the next 10-15 years

I mean, just the fact they're publishing this means the rumors of it being locked for quite some time now are true. I'm not a fan of doing sequels for the sake of doing sequels, but I do hope she proves y'all wrong once again. Especially you, little monstrosities.

this is a wondrous idea, me thinks. not even shocked that the imaginative scope and the intelligence of an average, garden-variety little monster are as limited as this thread showcases. we're in for a magically rude awakening.

this is brilliant!! so excited to see her as a more caricaturized character where she can go fully mental. aesthetically this role couldn't be more suitable for her, however they decide to portray Harley Quinn this time! but I can already imagine some outrageous looks that I'm sure Haus of Gaga will be fully involved with. a musical seems like a really interesting way to make a worthy sequel and not just a repetition of the first movie. I hope and assume she would also be involved in the songwriting. I just feel like this could be the craziest and most unique film in a long time! so let's hope the rumours are true

That’s not strictly true, a know a lot of people have seen positive feedback but I’ve seen mostly negative feedback from DCEU fans on twitter and some of Reddit too. Their general consensus is that Gaga is “not good enough of an actor” to play such a character (although we know that’s not true) and Margot was and is Harley Quinn to them.

Although I find it often comes from fans who find Margot attractive
