I mean, I'm not that familiar with this particular museum, but it seems like Ripley's Believe It or Not! features a little bit of everything, so textile conservation might not be their forte. It sounds more like a theme park than an actual museum tbh.

It is not too hard find a conservator. They just didn't deal with it.

To be honest, you can see even with the low-resolution that the fabric is stretched around the hooks on the before photo - the dress infamously fit Marilyn extremely tight, and for all we know, Kim never could zip it up. At all.

The harsh lighting and high resolution on the after photo are obviously the reasons why you're seeing all the imperfections, it really is a dishonest comparison. I'm not saying Kim didn't cause any damage to the dress, but this is definitely not the extent of it. This is merely an excuse to resurrect buzz around a story everyone had moved on from a long time ago.

whether she did that on purpose to produce another publicity stunt or to genuinely worship Marilyn or whatever - nothing that belongs to a museum should be so easily used by any individual for such selfish reasons .. all that is left is gossip and damage on a historically relevant piece of art .. I think there should be a guideline or dress code to strictly forbid such approbiation .. same goes with  that Youtuber I mean .. WTF
