Economy 52,907
I mean during war it's normal to try to create export disruption to your enemy and there isn't always a secondary objective beyond that so this is speculation... but it does have reasoning that makes a lot of sense especially knowing Putin and I think it's very plausible Disgusting how 1 man can disrupt the entire planet. Literally every single person in the world to some degree or another is being affected by this nonsense
Magui 2,656
Sometimes...just sometimes i wish the US and UK give to Ukraine real military material that can do big damage to Russian army ( jets, missile, idk what). Then i suppose it would be a big mess. But sometimes i just think irrationally and want do actually damage Russia in their territory, so they can feel and actually know the **** their leader is doing to others (it's very stupid, but it crosses my mind when I spend to much time watching the news regarding Ukraine) But then more people would die, Europe would have to endure another war. Everything is so unfair in this world... So freaking unfair. And we can't do nothing.
Magui 2,656
@FfFfFfFF isn't possible to take the cereals out of Ukraine by land? Idk, but maybe an huge corridor of trucks, trains with big wagons... shouldn't politicians focus on that? It's Ukrainian cereals, produced with the money and force of Ukrainian people, Russia don't own a grain of wheat, a single grain. If they can't taken it by sea, they must think other options. Of course they don't want to do that. They don't want their territory or cause harm to them. Plus, Russia would destroy everything, erase the country. And to be honest it's a complete irrational thought on my part. It's just when you spend a few hours watching all the devastation in Ukraine you think irrationally. What good would do, yo kill more innocent people. Reason must prevail. It just enrages me to watch all destruction in Ukraine and Putin will never pay for that. Maybe there's some devine justice after all, will do my best to believe that.

They can use alternative routes! However, from what I heard Constanța port in Romania is super crowded, given that it's now being used as the main export ramp for grains formely exported through Odesa, Mariupol.. Belgorod in Russia is/ was already frequently hit by the Ukrainians, there are "mysteryous fires" in all major Russian cities in key infrastructure or facilities. I don't have an issue on this kind of destruction unless it harms people or animals.. and there is an argument that strikes on any target are eventually bound to kill some innocent beings, which is why I wish they stopped. Russia is known to fake such things to make their target look hostile... That's how they started the war against Finland back then (Shelling of Mainila). KORG 4,756
The lesson here is don't put all your eggs in one basket. Grain can be grown almost anywhere, why didn't anyone learn from previous issues that relying on part of ex-soviet land might lead to issues? Anyway, use the vast quantities of unused American soil.. This is true, but in this particular instance I don't think it helps their case to damage their own capabilities, even if they wanted to paint the image of a hostile Ukraine/West intervining on their own soil. All our instinctive reactions are aggressive. It is the hopelessness of communication between ideologies that drives wars. The USA is well on its way towards aggressive civil reaction among its people. The ideologies are becoming too strong for the possibility of communication. It seems our answer to peace is to not entertain our own aggressive responses. I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong

Isn't Morocco one of the leading nations in exporting fertilizer? It has the worlds biggest deposit of phosphate which is the leading source of fertilizer. Africa in theory can and should be able to feed itself (even North Africa). It's just infrastrucral issues, lack of investement, corruption and poor planning are ruining the continent. Not to mention uneven trade deals and neo colonisalsim / debt traps by leading Western and Eastern states. Anyways, I kind of do not like the use of potential death of Africans and Asians as a form of propaganda. I think the world already knows Russia is horrible. Adding this feels like Westerners exploiting the plight of Global South residence for a game of optics and I do not enjoy this narrative too much. Obviously theorizing and what not is natural for geopolitical thinkers but idk...it just seems so shallow to use that to stir up some concern when we know for a fact these same ppl DO NOT CARE or have NEVER cared for African and Asian lives. At most, the genuine fear might stem from them worrying that a food crisis will increase immigration from the global south into Europe once again. I bet that is the true concern here.
