Bronze Age woman's face reconstructed, revealing Únětice culture's look

You can now see what a woman who lived near the Czech city of Pardubice in the Bronze Age looked like.

This image is not an artistic guess. New forms of DNA analysis plus unusually well-preserved personal items allow us to now make a highly accurate picture.

Bringing her back to what she looked like took the combined efforts of experts in several fields. The model was completed by anthropologist Eva Vaníčková and sculptor Ondřej Bílek from the Laboratory of Anthropological Reconstruction of the Moravian Museum (MZM) in cooperation with archaeologist Michal Ernée from the Institute of Archaeology of the Czech Academy of Science (AVČR) in Prague.

Her grave is the richest one for a woman Únětice culture, a group that lived in Central Europe from about 2300 to 1600 B.C.

No I don't think so ahahahah and I guess that's also included in terms of injuries, scars, acne, etc.

Imagine having your face recreated thousands of years after you die by the people of the future only to be roasted for your looks. Pls, Miss Girl didn’t ask for any of this.

I still can’t understand how they do this. Do we know what each gene means as for physical appearance? But that’s truly fascinating nonetheless. Those ancient folks didn’t look that different than we do now

I have a superficial knowledge on this but from what I can tell they look into individual genes, combinations of genes and whether or not these said genes were expressed. For instance, they found genetic markers of blonde hair way thousands of year ago in Siberia, but they were said to not have been expressed and those people still had brown hair.
