No. America is pretty much on its own. This kind of thing would've happened if we were a less developed society - as America is - but here in the UK our society is generally anti-bastard rather than anti-people. So when I see kids being so embraced by their family, being taken to pride events, being allowed to dress however they want to and being able to express themselves, it makes my heart so happy because these kids won’t grow up with the trauma of being forced to hide who they are. I have friends who still carry trauma from their unaccepting upbringing. People who think kids are being harmed by these things are so ignorant and entirely misguided. That last point I mean Ohio Republicans literally just passed a bill that allows people to accuse kids of being trans and forces them to be subjected to invasive external and internal "examinations" to make sure they are the "right gender". The country is just relatively young in the grand scheme of things. We’ve been in that young adult stage of “we’re so hot, no one can touch us” tunnel-visioned stage of existence for a few decades.
