"With four credited composers — Lorne Balfe, Harold Faltermeyer, Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer — it’s going to be an uphill battle as the music branch isn’t typically kind to multiple musicians. Not since the 12-person assembly for “The Color Purple” (1985) has a film with four or more composers been nominated. However, you can bet your bottom dollar every concerted effort will go into campaigning the chart-topper “Hold My Hand,” penned by Balfe and Gaga, for original song. After being snubbed for “House of Gucci” last year, Gaga would be wise to take a softer approach on the awards circuit."

Let's remember that Gaga didn't lose nomination last year because she didn't take a 'softer' approach. There's something called campaigning because of which a couple of other actors got in for forgettable performances (I'm talking about Nicole's average and the eventual winner's extremely hammy performances. Kristen and Penelope deserved nominations, IT'S MY OPINION) :vegas:

Nevertheless, music not the bling

Also, monsters need take it easy this time and not bully people into supporting Gaga. It just makes her look bad lol. Not that it determines whether she gets a nom or not, just saying...

The absurdity of Gaga's Haus of Gucci campaign was more iconic than the movie itself, and more entertaining than any of the movies nominated for Best Picture. Let Gaga be Gaga, and stop asking her to be something she's not, a soft wall flower.

Gaga, please just take whatever approach you think is best (fair to say that's worked pretty well for you over the years) and f--k the begrudgers.

For us, sure, it was awesome and hilarious but I don’t think the awards body looking at awarding the performance want the press junket to outshine the film :laughga:

Let's push back on the narrative that Lady Gaga needs to to dim her shine so the locals can appreciate her talent.

omg for weeks i've been wondering why balfe was listed sometimes and not others and i'm just now realizing it's bloodpop :laughga: still confused why sometimes he is included on the score credit and sometimes he isn't?

i STILL think it would be hard not to check the box next to gaga and hans zimmer, such an iconic collab

Again, it isn’t locals, it’s literally the Academy lmao agree or not, it’s their opinion which is what awards are all about in the end

i opened my copy of the variety special issue yesterday and saw the big font of like I STUDIED THE PANTHER and started laughing so hard i cried. i think my personal favorite bit was how she said a completely different amount of time for living in the accent every time -- sometimes 6 months, sometimes 9 months, sometimes a year and a half.

i still think the reason she was snubbed was more to do with not getting enough #1 votes. multiple goldderby editors speculated that she got more votes overall than kristen (and perhaps penelope too) but those two had more #1 votes than gaga which is important in the acting categories. i don't think the typical oscar voter is on twitter all day seeing her absurd/iconic quote of the day

Also, the fact that Jessica Chastain said multiple times that she prepared for that one role for 10 years (TEN YEARS for a single role in a two-hour movie) and still got away without making headlines or attracting trolls :partysick:

As @JoanneStan420 explains, her snub was more likely about voting technicalities rather than a reaction to how she campaigned.

But regardless, I don't think we should be asking or hoping that a champion of self-expression will change her personality in order to be accepted by boring folks.

Six months, nine months, since she was 12, she was in character.:lmao:
