I think Shallow isn’t a good metric to go by and we’ve been unfairly comparing the two all along. Shallow was a rare moment that saw a non-pop song skyrocket. If HMH does well in weeks/months to come then great. If not, then it’s not the end of the world and it was cool to see Gaga involved in another great project. Not everything she does will have enormous commercial success and that’s ok.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

The song will do just fine, you better believe this movie will be up for at least a few Oscars, and the song? At least one Grammy, doesn’t matter if it’s far away. The song wasn’t supposed to be an immediate radio hit.

Shallow was not supposed to be a hit according to many fans here, but here we are, using Shallow against HMH:flop:

You guys love Gaga only when she's giving you that precious #1, but you don't support her along the way to the #1.

i think expressing my opinion based off of what we've been seeing at the moment is a bit different than not supporting her or the song though ...

We really won't know until awards season. Shallow wasn't a hit until it was played at the Oscars, and was shunned by the fan base from the beginning.

not sure if i'm recalling this correctly, but wasn't shallow a hit around the time the video of bradley getting on stage with gaga to sing shallow went viral?

IMO it will not be a hit. The movie grossed a record breaking $156 Million this Memorial Day Weekend which is HUGE yet the numbers are pretty low, barely cracking 1 million on Spotify. I do think it will keep gaining views and traction DAILY but just wont top the Billboards. I would compare it to ARUTW, never really charting high but still gaining plays. I also I have a feeling it will quickly rise on Youtube and easily earn 1 Million views a day which is pretty good!

Stop the music, Start the drama.

Madam, you're using your free time to browse a forum dedicated to a woman named Stefani Germanotta. You have no high ground to be saying this. :vegas:

well yeah it was pretty obvious it wont be a hit after this weekend. This is likely going to be the biggest weekend for the film box office wise so if the movie was going to provide a major boost it would have been now but it hasn't meaning the traction is gone BUT it doesnt matter. Not every song Gaga releases can be a hit tbh...

Well, I do work like 9hs a day and still make time to come here and see some little monstruosities complaining about anything that Gaga does :zilla:

Yep, the performance is what brought it back to prominence and #1

I think the video he’s talking about is the one they sang together at enigma in Vegas, not the Oscar’s one
