No spoilers please, I haven't watched the 4th season yet.

But whatever his sexual orientation is, I find it cool that one of the main characters doesn't have a love interest, it's okay not to have one, whether you're not interested or haven't found anyone.

No spoilers, but one of the characters said we might see who he's really interested in soon, so he might get an actual love interest... or he might not :partysick:

I've not seen all the new episodes yet and I never got the impression that they were trying to say he was gay. Maybe just late bloomer and he wanted to stay a kid.

I get the representation issues, but at the same time the show is set in the 80’s and a teenager coming out publicly would probably not make a lot of sense “In Universe”. If they chose to do it I wouldn’t expect Will to be all up in our faces showing his pride

I’m only a couple of episodes into the new season and I think part of good story writing is the unknown. It’s not a cop out when they explicitly allowed Robin to come out last season. Everyone is different and from what they show in the first episode, it sort of implies that Will has a discomfort that he is, perhaps, trying to figure out himself. The show is set in 1986- we can’t pretend like a teenager of the 80s would be as comfortable to come out then as they would now in 2022.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

i mean... i'm on the second to last episode of S4 and will is just existing... he has NO storyline, he's just there to make up the numbers :bear: a gay storyline would actually give him purpose to be around

mother, what must i do?

You are completely right, however a queer character doesn't have to come out publicly "in universe", coming out to the audience is enough. Them saying the show won't even acknowledge it suggests that they won't be even doing that.
