Every gay movie makes it seem like it’s just so easy for gay men to be surrounded by other gay men to be with and most of the gay people I know can’t relate lol, we need a movie from that perspective too Or imagine a gay character grossed out by hook ups, never seen one of those before either
NewUsername 11,000
Hmmmmmmm, one part of me is saying "it's just a light-hearted, tongue in cheek movie and it does represent a part of the community, of life etc.", while another one is saying "well, **** this, yet another movie that doesn't do anything than portray stereotypes and is damaging". A gay romcom I would suggest is "The Thing About Harry".
RahrahWitch 6,956
I'm calling it now, It's going to be a full movie of gay clichés and at the end it'll be "wow, look we fell in love just like regular people". I don't mind gay clichés for characters but I hate when their used to portray a whole community in one stereotypical way.

ALGAYDO 29,960
This is so embarrassing and cringe. When will Hollywood stop portraying gays as sex-demons who only like doing drugs/drinking and spreading STDs to strangers
SlaeUrAnus 15,555
I’m reluctant on watching gay movies since the 2015 version of Stonewall. The whitewashing and stereotypes were so bad In my messy era.

So boring, so tired, and ultimately damaging to a community that is seen as ‘perverted’. To be honest, nowadays this is more damaging internally in the community than in "straight" society. It makes gay people assume the "San Francisco gangbanger" is the only reality possible for them. I've had so many dates where guys are clearly and naturally yearning for monogamy but just resignated to this idea that modern gay couples have to be open about everything, thus making them never truly happy but also never considering going against "the norm". These same people will use the correct statements "a person is not property" and "jealousy is unhealthy", to justify to themselves why being open is "the right way". It's ok to be open and have gangbangs, but it's also ok to just cuddle on the sofa eating pizza with your one partner, or to be single and be ok with it. And I feel like there aren't many role models in media about this. Either way, the movie seems funny enough for me to watch, I love the 2000's style of cheap comedies.
