Teletubby 150,682
A Spanish court has dismissed an appeal from Shakira and ratified a prior decision, which saw "sufficient evidence" to send her to stand trial over alleged tax fraud, a court document showed on Thursday. Prosecutors claim the "Hips Don't Lie" singer failed to pay up to 14.5 million euros ($15.54 million) in tax on income earned between 2012 and 2014. They argue Shakira was living in the Spanish northern region of Catalonia during those years though Shakira's representatives have said she moved to Spain only in 2015 where she has met all her tax obligations since then. The new decision is a ratification of a prior court ruling issued in July 2021. The court still has to formally send her to stand trial and set a date. Her legal team said in statement on Thursday they will keep defending her case with solid legal arguments. "You b*tch!" ~ Rat Boy

Guest
I honestly lost all my respect for her because of this. Before someone says it's mysoginisissitic, hm no. Ive lost respect for many artists who are men who've done worse to be fair lol it's just that not paying taxes, like Messi did for example, or Shakira's husband, when you're a millionaire, oh my god. You are tacky, greedy as hell. You can't just live somewhere and not pay ur taxes to contribute to the city, the country, the gov aids for people in need, the public schools, welfare. You can't preach on TV or Twitter or wherever that you want to donate to improve quality of life of XYZ, or you love your country/city, and then you don't pay ur taxes. C'mon now, get real
