Dojo 19,365
Hi, most of y'all already know this cute little story but i thought i could share just for the record, this is not your typical "white savior" complex, Marilyn and Ella belong to an era BEFORE civil rights revolution so i 100% Marilyn was an authentic kind soul and Ella gave her in exchange an honest friendship that lasted until Marilyn's last days. Â Â I loved when Marilyn demanded that both her and Ella walked inside the club from the same entrance! how horrible those times were? Â
NFRatwell 23,290
A lot of people forget how important stars of this era were to civil rights. The story is similar to Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. as well (despite the way they joked about race, definitely not something that would be approved today).
