this is so bizarre to read. i'll be 32 this year. i pretty much just turned 17 when i discovered her. i feel so old, which feels bad, but not for the most obvious reasons. it's just kinda scary how fast time seems to go

This is why I'm hoping that HMH can be a hit, the tour's a success and the next album has the planned strategy that Chromatica was originally going to have because if she delivers the goods, it doesn't matter what age she is, radio will continue to support her, she will get promo gigs, she will be taken seriously and marketed as someone worth listening to. Older women don't just disappear off the charts because their music is bad, they disappear because radio won't play them anymore, they stop getting invited to promo opportunities, they get marketed as heritage acts for older generations with greatest hits tours. I don't want Gaga to fade away and she's done great making a comeback at a more advanced age, I want to keep this going because she can't do it forever. We're well past the days of when Mariah Carey, Fergie, Gwen Stefani and Nelly Furtado had huge albums in their 30's, Madonna had a massive pop album in her 40's and Cher got a #1 in her 50's. The pop scene belongs to gen z now, Gaga is an outlier and while she may be able to sell albums and get critical praise and awards, hits are going to be harder to come by soon.

I'm also wondering what the future holds for Ariana (28), Miley (29), Cardi (29), Taylor (32), Rihanna (34) and Adele (34). Artists like Pink, Shakira and Beyonce have already officially had their hits end by their mid-30's. A big comeback like J.Lo in her 40's can happen but it tends to be for occasional singles, not the album eras as a whole. Makes you wonder who's next...

It's funny, because people used to think Gaga was in her 40s during TFM/BTW run

This means the music industry isn’t reflecting the general population. The largest generation right now is millennials.

This is very tragic, the oldest woman at 36 ? How ?

This means she will no longer be aired on radio soon because of her age like Madonna with her two last album, radios refused to play her songs because she was too old ...
