I'm speechless. I don't know how anyone could support "gun rights" anymore. What's the point of having the "freedom" to carry a gun when you're simultaneously costing yourself the freedom to safely pray in your local church, or get groceries, or even just go to school?

Because none of those other parts are part of your second amendment, and it shall not be infringed.

Republicans pro-life until gun violence is brought up, then they just turn their heads. This is happening way too often (although once is too much).

Ok y’all I think this is well beyond a gun control conversation lol that feels like too small a focus for what is feeling like a much more monstrously large and complicated issue. (And no, I’m not against GC, either lol)

Lol no, it’s worse than that.

They’re pro life until you ask them to open their wallets to support pregnant women with child welfare money. They’re pro life until it comes to the death penalty. They’re pro life until a pregnant woman’s life is at stake. They’re pro life until it comes to the decision to send our kids to die on foreign soil.

The pro life stance is 100% about depriving economic opportunities from poor Americans and ensuring a plentiful crop of bodies to exploit for profit.

It's been said before, the unborn are a super convenient class of "person" to defend 'cause they don't ask for anything in return :lolly:

If you take a prolife stance on literally any other group of people it's much more work.

Kids? Childcare, proper educations, no school meal debt, no book bannings, expanded welfare, expanded pre-k, safe parks and playgrounds, etc.

Women? Properly fund sexual health clinics like Planned Parenthood, free toiletries (pads, tampons, etc), free birth control, even more etc etc.

A racial minority? A sexual minority? Immigrants? Hell, even American citizens in general? They all need so much stuff.

But the unborn? All you have to do is slap a legislative chain around the pregnant woman's legs and your job is done. You get to be outraged about something, manipulate the stupid people for their support, and you don't have to spend a dime.

It's much easier to change the laws in this country than it is to change the culture in this country :lolly:

Expanded background checks is one such law that's almost universally approved of by American voters, left, right, and center.

This is about 8mins from my work. I manage a few juice bars in Lake Forest. And this is a total shock for the area. I was off today and called into my stores and make sure my staff was OK and not scared.

Republicans want to regulate uteruses more than guns.

A firearm has more rights in 'Murica than anyone with ovaries and a uterus.

It’s never been about life. I have an aunt and uncle in Florida who are staunchly “pro life” and created a “non profit charity” to help fund and provide supplies to foster families in need… at least that’s what they claimed. Instead they took in nearly every penny the organization received and used the money to fund their lifestyle while they travelled around the state making anti abortion speeches to half empty meeting rooms.
It’s always been about making themselves feel better, not doing what’s actually right.
