I don't understand.  :red:

What he says is that while the contest itself is gay-friendly, it is still broadcast in countries that are the opposite of it, including Russia and many other eastern european countries. In Russia law forbids to even talk about gays publicly, imagine how big a deal would two girls kissing on national television during the most-watched show be.

Well, they've changed the rules once again which in my opinion is good! :3

For example:

If the Serbian people gave Croatia their highest vote

And the jury put them on fourth place

It would have ended with: 12p + 7p = 19 points

Which would be enough for them to get 12 points from Serbia

But now they have to rank EACH AND EVERY SONG. Which means that the list will go from 1-26

For example:

In 2011 the jury put Italy on #1st place while the televoters #15th

Italy ended #2nd

But with the new rules they ad your two places,

The country with less points wins.

So Italy would have ended with: 1+15 = 16

And let's say Sweden would have ended

#5 and #8 = 8+5 = 13

Which means that Sweden would get a much better place than Italy, even though Italy was the Jury favorite

Loreen last year: #1 Jury #1 Televoters = 2

The best result you can get.

I don't know what to think tbh. Once again, there's nothing new because when you look back, there already have been some big « LGBT moments » in ESC history. For exemple, Dona International in 1998, Marija Ã… erifović or Verka Serduchka in 2007. It's obvious that gays are an important target. For sure, it's not bad to want to promote gay marriage but it's against the rules to fight for a political issue during the contest : dura lex sed lex. And I think gay marriage isn't a priority in Russia right now. That's why I wonder if she really wants to change the situation or if she just tries to attract attention and get the gay votes (because it sounds like an average Katy Perry's song). Not to mention that this is a resumption of what has been done at the VMAs 2003 ... 10 years later. Don't get me wrong : I'd like to see changes in eastern countries. But I'm not sure we can reach this objective like this. A polemic might ruin everything.

You make good points, especially about the song not deserving it. But as I said, you can't really get the importance because you live in France. If a gay kiss happens on live TV in Russia (as well as other post-soviet countries), this will be one of the biggest news stories of the year.

Anyway, Norway is the most deserving song in my opinion. I'm still voting for Finland, but if that one wins I won't mind. :)

Sadly, I heard about what's happening there. The "gay propaganda" thing, etc.  :(

I hope you're right and that the performance will influence people in those countries.  :)

I've had Robin Stjernberg on constant repeat over the past couple of months now

Thirteen

Romania's entry is awful so I doubt we'll enter top 10, let alone reaching our #3 peak with the 2010 smash Playing With Fire, which should have won then.

CONFIRMED! Loreen will perform her new single, "We Got the Power," at the ESC! :excited:

But shouldn't it be We Have/We've Got the Power?

That song was amazing.
