The group has 23 members ( they have a system where new members can be added to the group whenever the company wants ) however they are split into units and usually promote that way. So for example there is NCT 127 ( 9 members and is a fixed unit, meaning the members are always the same ), NCT Dream ( 7 members with 2 members from the 127 unit being in it too *is a fixed unit also*, it started off as a unit for members under the age of 20 and was supposed to have a graduation concept where the members would leave this unit and join another after coming of age, but due to it being the most popular unit of them all *sold over 2 million albums in one week with their latest comeback* the company decided to make it a fix unit as well ), NCT U ( is a rotational unit where the members change all the time and can very in number ), WayV ( their chinese unit that releases c-pop and usually promotes in China only, was supposed to be also called NCT *something* but due to tensions between the two countries at the time of their debut, their company decided to launch a new label just for them and change their name also ) and finally, NCT which is the whole group, they release an album a year together but the songs are sung in random units of all the members. It’s really cool tbh, kpop has amazing concepts, if you care, I’ll link a video from some these units for you to check out if you want to of course. Even just as a one time experience kpop is cool to check out for the amazing visuals, concepts, music, etc. Also, there are currently preparing for a new unit called NCT Hollywood and is set to be operating in America ( we don’t know if they will be all asian or not yet ). A Japanese one has been rumoured for a while as well. Some people might find this concept to be A LOT but idc, this sh*t is sooo fire to me like A+ for creativity tbh. Or six 4-member groups? i mean it's managed by jaden jeong. he's known for being very over-ambitious and experimental. there's probably a whole lot of lore/conceptual **** he's produced behind it (there does seem to be judging by the concept trailer they dropped) and it's more of an art project than a music group. I know it can seem overwhelming for somebody that maybe isn’t into kpop, I know when I first found out about them I was also a little put off too, but it’s actually a really cool project and it’s very successful.
