Why do you have to be negative about someone doing a good thing? At least he's doing something to reduce the impact of the tour on the environment, which is more than many are doing. 

Also how exactly is it a marketing spin? Do you really think that this is going to impact his ticket sales or album sales in any noticeable way? This isn't the first time he's done it, his last tour had a program in place for this, this is just much more extensive and detailed. 

There's no way to make touring have absolutely no impact on the environment, but there is absolutely nothing stopping artists from trying to at least reduce and not many do.

So long travel, esp. by plane, is involved, this is not gonna be that different from any other tours. Not more than marketing as of now.

this is great and all but it is the mutimillionaire industries backed by superpowers like US/China/Europe polluting 80% of the world. not a pop singer's tour. this has about the same impact as me not using plastic straws
