Honestly it's just Pocahontas in space... equally as problematic and white saviour themed :billie:

I really enjoyed the first one. The visuals were amazing but the story was just okay. I hope the sequels expand on the story and somehow go even further with the effects.

Some people got to see the trailer for Avatar 2 today and said it was "astonishing" so I am looking forward to this.

This series has the potential to go down in pop culture history as being up there with Harry Potter, Star Wars, LOTR, etc.

Avatar does not deserve the hate it gets. I’m stoked for number 2 and WILL be giving my coin

Personally, I don’t think they’ll be anything earth shattering. What helped the first one was all the buzz around the new filming/motion capture techniques and the rise of new 3D tech rolling out to theaters.

No one really cares about 3D anymore and I think several theaters scrapped it (or just no 3D movies have been released lately?). Also CGI and motion capture has evolved so much in 13 years, they don’t have that advantage anymore either.

I’m afraid it took wayyyy too long for a sequel that was already allegedly planned from the start. It lost its necessary momentum. A 13 year gap just made the franchise a running joke.

But I think the reason for the long gap is because they had to invent new vfx technology to make it. Apparently underwater mocap didn't exist until Avatar 2. Aquaman was shot above-ground, for example. So, from what I hear, it will be a visually new experience like the first one was.

This is gonna be so good! The new cast members are talented asf (including Michelle Yeoh!!) The research they put into creating the underwater environment is crazy and the new movie tech is gonna be fun to learn about.

Y'all please don't sleep on this

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

Following its theatrical premiere, the teaser will debut online a week later.

Why? It will definitely leak in low quality with people recording it from the screen.

Anyway, can't wait for this film. 4 sequels are a bit too much tho, could've been a trilogy...

This movie might be really cool as 4DX with the moving seats. The Flight of Passage ride in Animal Kingdom is definitely one of the best rides I’ve ever been on.

I read that they've also remastered the first movie and it will play in theaters this September:pray:

Why did it take so long to make a second one? I’ve actually never watched the first one should I watch it?
