Is it possible Rob Thomas also has credits on "Hold My Hand"

It sounds like Rob Thomas was originally penned for the Top Gun soundtrack judging from the clip above, no? 

Or was it that his was scrapped and then Gaga came on board, or who maybe he actually is part of the writing for "Hold My Hand"? Hmm..

Personally i think he's a brilliant song writer whether it was Matchbox Twenty or his solo work, so I'd be here for this!

Rob Thomas is one of my all-time favorite songwriters so I hope he’s on the soundtrack, although the way he explains it makes me think he isn’t.

Also for context, in the full video clip he explains how his song “I Love It” was written for a Deadpool movie but they went with someone else instead, and he’s sort of explaining that the same thing happened with Top Gun.

Didn't realise he was originally selectee for Deadpool soundtrack. Wow.
