monstertoronto 11,743
I think you might need to clarify in the post that she didn’t write the article or any of the words you quoted. This is still a problematic article but it was written by a white gay male who shockingly feels he’s been rendered a “relic” by trans issues, and “can’t keep up”’with memorizing peoples pronouns, and dares to call peoples reactions to his trans-insensitivity as a new type of homophobia that He is a victim of. Ugh masc white gay males are some of the least tolerant people because they are now so used to being idolized within the gay community. JK Rowling is **** for sharing this piece of garbage, but it’s clear from the comments here that most people have not clicked on the article and think JK is “sharing” her own thoughts in this article when she’s just sharing an article written by someone else. Hard to have a proper discussion when people are coming from a wrong assumption.

skaxboy 6,919
With her no trans knowledge mouth. Does JK or DeSantis or any other vomitrocious bigot even know a trans person? Have they ever had a heart to heart with a trans person? Ever even cared to know their stories or battles they have and are facing? It’s one thing to criticize as she is doing but what does she want transgender people to do?

However, if she's sharing it, we assume she has read it and agrees with it and therefore is why she is sharing it. she/her/hers

I get that but from the comments it was clear people assumed she had written these quotes, (which would make no sense since she’s not a member of the lgbt community) and I just wanted it to be more clear so people knew what we were discussing. She’s trash for sharing it because she obviously thinks it supports her own position. But it’s confusing to have people think she actually wrote these words and react to that instead when that’s not what’s happening.
PartySick 172,527
Oh! I LOVE translating these things 52 minutes ago, Rebel said: "I was just another "cis" (short for "cisgender," a word I had never even heard until it was assigned to me, typically as a slur)" Wow, victim mentality right off the bat "New things scare me. Suddenly, I'm no longer referred to as just a 'normal woman', now I'm a 'cisgender' and I feel attacked for it!!!!" 52 minutes ago, Rebel said: "At the time, I was exhausting so much mental energy memorizing my coworkers' pronouns and all of the new progressive dogmas out of fear that I would be fiercely condemned if I slipped up" "Learning to show people respect and validate their identities by using their preferred names and pronouns was really difficult for me. Of course, my main concern wasn't how they felt but rather the consequences I could face by making a mistake. So I decided to do this sh*t on purpose! " 53 minutes ago, Rebel said: "But many young boys do not stop at simply painting their fingernails and wearing dresses, and young girls do more than cut their hair short and play football. With increasing frequency, these children are given drugs to block their puberty, cross-sex hormones and irreversible surgeries, all the while cheered on first by online communities, then the mainstream media and now the current presidential administration." "Men and women have had defined roles for centuries. A woman is to bring her man a tequila and a bologna sandwich when he gets in from his 9-5 job then wait in the bedroom for him to assert himself sexually. Nowadays, people all want to be 'iNdIvIdUaLs' and it makes me sick! And kids are allowed to determine their own identities for themselves! No more bending to the whims of the prior generation or crumbling under oppressive parents! What a world we live in!" 53 minutes ago, Rebel said: "Today, the least-accepting spaces for people like me are, of all places, the halls of LGBT rights organizations." "I just don't understand why transgender people and their allies in the LGBT+ community would possibly be so mean to me after I've spent so much time and energy hating them! I'm the victim here!!!!!!" She's gone full alt-right, I fear Whimsical bitch

I also wonder frequently if transphobic people have even met the people they have such harsh opinions about. I have had several trans friends and have become quite educated and knowledgeable on their experiences and the things they’ve gone though, and they are all some of the kindest, more caring, and simply wonderful people I’ve ever met. The things they have experienced are heartbreaking, yet they are so resilient and don’t let the things they’ve overcome stop them from standing tall in who they are and spreading love to everyone around them. Maybe if more people educated themselves before spreading misinformation and falsely claiming it as their “opinion” our trans/non-binary brothers, sisters, and siblings would feel safer and more accepted. I wouldn't even go that far - her books after Harry Potter series have had some terrible stuff in them, and even Harry Potter is not devoid of some of her worst habits, specifically racism and fatphobia Shaun did a good video dissecting the problems in Harry Potter in case anyone is interested - I think he did a very good job explaining how JK Rowling writes and how her writing is influenced by her political views: It's a joke!
