tbh he should just come out and accept it.

I dont think girls are even drooling over him tbh. I genuinely just don’t like how the music industry force artists to be not themselves for marketing purposes when in reality he’s very marketable in the gay community.

I hope these music executives know what the current climate is in pop culture.

Wtf did I just read?

You’ve jumped through 10473993 loopholes to get to that conclusion. Shawn is making it clear that he’s a struggling man who’s in a crisis with what he does and who he is in life, which almost all 20 something year olds endure in their life, LGBT or not.

I'm not even going to comment on all the tired gay jokes, but I will say that both Shawn and Camilla often do this thing where they try to get all super deep in a notes app kinda way but the honesty is just not coming across. They have yet to say something revelatory or make really personal music. They're almost 10 years into their careers and are still like blank walls.

The jokes about Shawn's sexuality are not funny. They're based in misandry and outdated stereotypes and they hurt so many people people than just him. When I was a teenager and incredibly afraid of coming out I remember going to a gay group with my lesbian friend, and being so extremely nervous about the whole thing, it was a huge step for me. And when I arrived the whole time everyone there bullied me trying to force me to come out, telling me that 'it's obvious' and 'we can tell anyway'. Do you know how much that f.ucked me up mentally? When I was in the closet for my own safety, being told that everyone can tell and I don't pass as straight? My first experiences meeting other gay people and instead of the loving, accepting community people always talked about, I immediately developed trust issues against them and went deeper in the closet. Didn't trust any gay people for so long, didn't take any more chances, played it safe, hid.

And I'm not saying Shawn is gay, straight, whatever. But at this point he's f.ucked either way. Only 23 years old and on a world stage with everyone ridiculing him just for being himself. If he is straight he will remain constantly made fun of and probably develop homophobic tendencies against the community that judges and harasses him. If he ever does come out and will be heckled because 'we already knew sis', while also being shunned by the industry (see Jojo Siwa not getting invited to the Kids Choice Awards after coming out).

And one last point... are we really, REALLY still judging straight men for being too effeminate? Really? Neither the straight community nor the LGBTQIA community have grown past the point of ridiculing and shaming men for being too effeminate? Judging them based on how they hold themselves, or how kind they are, or how they speak, or dress, or walk. Every time people make fun of Shawn for 'being obviously gay' they are saying that straight men and gay men have to act certain ways. That some men need to be 'straight enough' to be taken seriously. F.ucked up man. Can't believe we're still doing this

Gay people should still not be trusted. :billie: Don’t have to look far to see how cruel gays can be.

Rich people DO have problems, sometimes (often) bigger problems than "normal" people

It must be so annoying to have people questioning and discussing your own sexuality.

He discusses it more than most of the general public.

I forgot those are the only things any person needs to be happy.

According to most people in this forum, gay is something you should hide. Do heterosexual people hide their sexuality?

This topic is problematic and toxic here but also, what is up with all the bi erasure? If he were to hypothetically be public with a man, he has also been public with women, so why couldn’t he be bisexual in this scenario? I really don’t understand this line of thinking from a community that is constantly attacked from the outside. Bisexual people (men especially) are told by the straight and gays alike into believing you can only like man or a woman. “It can’t possibly be true you can like both!!!” They will try to use evidence of them being effeminate like that’s some red flag for the GAYS. I sorta get the jokes because it’s a coping mechanism for some of your own trauma but quit pushing that on someone else. If the world were ideal and we weren’t taught what society deems as normal, then I think more young adults would freely try to see who they are and what they like, specifically when it comes to dating and sex. As a gay man myself, I’ve had tons of eyebrow raising comments from straight men that made me think twice. Never did I think “Ooo they’re secretly gay!” But I definitely felt sad that they COULD BE bisexual and not have the support to fully explore that.

Who said to hide it? Everyone, from what I’ve seen, had said it’s nasty to keep this narrative that he’s gay and has to come out. It’s also nasty to joke about when this forum is made in support of a woman who supports kindness and safe spaces. It’s not funny, shady nor cute to act this way. If you think it is, you’re supporting the wrong woman.
