Normani refuses to rush her album release

Normani won't release her new album until she feels ready.

She shot to fame as part of Fifth Harmony and although she's been teasing her solo album for a couple of years, she's always been determined to take her time.

Normani - who enjoyed chart success with her 2019 single 'Motivation' - explained: "Everybody says, 'Oh, well, she should've dropped her album during 'Motivation', which to everybody from an outside perspective seemed like the perfect time. But for me, I was just coming out of the group and I needed to figure out what I wanted my sound to sound like."

Normani explained that by taking her time, she's been able to work out what's important to her.

She said: "I needed to figure out what I wanted to talk about and what was important to me. And I've had the time to do that. So this will really be an introduction to who I really am."

"I would love to just have my records mean something to the world and connect with as many people as I can," she said about her music.

Normani says her album is going to showcase her vocal abilities like never before. "From track one to track 14," people will hear how much she's evolved through the years and they'll see what happens when she has full creative control over her work.

I respect her. I really do. But this is ridiculous. After she dropped Fair I was like girl… are you trying at all here? This is an album track, not a single. In this quote she clearly knows she missed a very lucrative window to drop an album (Motivation). And every month she waits it will only become harder for her. I want her to succeed so badly but she’s making it hard for me to believe she can at this point 🤦‍♂️

She's very promising but the time she releases this damn album, the only one that's gonna be waiting is her. She's killing her own hype with every release she does and every interview she does with the same mf answers.

As if her label is giving her a chance to have a say in this. If it was on her she would have released her album 5 times by now. Her label clearly doesn’t want to do it because every single one of her tracks flopped hard.

yeah i don’t see it happening for her. she tried her best though. should’ve released debut album back in 2019 and maybe by now we’d see if she could make a big sophomore return

And everyone was blaming her label and her team. I been saying it its all up to her. She is the artist who is choosing to take her time to release music.
