Miley’s on her way to being an artist that goes on tours tributing her early work for the rest of her career

Eh many many artists. Society is changing so fast and in the next 10 years there will be a new generation who will listen to new artists, so literally no one is safe in this thread.

It all depends on how these artists can adapt to the new sounds and the new generation of listeners. I don't even think Gaga is safe, 10 years are A LOT in the music industry. She'll be forever rememeber, but relevant? I don't know.

You make great points. I agree that Gaga might not be relevant chart wise. Hell, that could happen with her next album. But like Cher, Madonna, Mariah, etc she'll always be a name and have some sort of platform. Bey, Rihanna, Taylor I think are the same. But, yeah, who knows?

Yall saying Dua lipa should rethink it twice cuz that girl ain’t going anywhere

I give her one more successful album if she’s lucky. That’s the trajectory I see for her unless Pop music becomes the dominating genre In the future.

Minus the big superstars that have built that solid following, basically everyone else already mentioned. Katy's downfall and the sheer speed of it was what made me realise that anything can happen, that one flop album, or even under-performing album, can change everything. I'd seen artists fall from grace just as fast before then but they weren't on her level of fame or success. Music critics have written articles about this, her demise must have scared the hell out the industry and its artists. In addition, the lack of major superstars we've made in the last decade is appalling. I've said it once and I'll say it again: Ariana and The Weekend (breakthroughs in 2013) are the last big superstars we've had for quite some time. I like to think I've built up a good sense now for who's going to last or not. The only ones that I think may last are Cardi B and Dua Lipa but they're going to need more albums before that can be decided. Streaming gave us so much choice that we don't have to hold our attention for long and the average artist's success tails away after their third album anyway - that's been the norm since releasing music began. A few select legends stick around and the rest disappear. It's sad, but normal.
