Yes a thread for all of us that are burnout from doing the same for years…

I honestly like my job but when **** hits the fan or there’s a lot of drama I just don’t want to deal with it…  Like right now, I’m currently sitting at home drinking coffee wishing it was Sunday again so I don’t have to work… the reason being is because since my coworker quit and my boss can’t find anybody else, which means more work for me and a more stressful environment :selena:

What about y’all? :partysick:

Every day I have to fight against my natural instinct to quit without any notice because I hate doing work period. I'm older now so I don't do it. But I might still. :stalkga:

I actually miss being burnt out from work, I used to be a teacher assistant and work with prep & grade 1 students (5-7 year olds) but I had to leave my job at the end of the school year last year due to constant and ongoing migraines. Months of specialists later, it seems likely that I have “Chronic Daily Migraine Disorder” but I’m yet to receive a formal diagnosis. I’ve now been bed-ridden for over 3 months and totally financially reliant on my amazing parents. If you’d asked me six months ago, I would’ve complained about feeling completely burnt-out too but now I miss the relationships I had with all of the kids and school staff. Remember to appreciate what you have. I hope the burnt-out feeling passes 😊

Burnout is more than just a feeling

I literally just started working (recent college grad here), and I’m already burnt out. The fact that I’m expected to work for like 45 more years before retiring makes me feel so drained. :icega:

You’re right, I agree completely. I probably should’ve picked my words more carefully 😊

I work in social media and content marketing - so I’m eternally burnt out because it feels like I have no work-life balance. I literally stop scrolling my work’s social accounts to take a quick break and scroll my personal…On my personal time my brain goes “oooo I should do something similar for work!”… I also feel like executives don’t know how much work my job is. I’m literally a photographer, videographer, copywriter, strategist, community manager and graphic designer in one - but I don’t even get paid six figures doing all that…

sorry for ranting…I need to find a new career…

I'm currently finishing my master's degree and working a part time job, and the routine is so back to back to back that I feel like I've become a robot. I worked full time before deciding to go back to school, and I remember what that kind of burnout feels like as well. As someone who doesn't like too much sameness every day, it's really hard to strike a balance and I sometimes find it difficult to feel excited about things.

My burnout happens more when things get crazy and as production lead when there's lots of small jobs (meaning they are done quicker so there's more of them meaning more data, changeovers, paper work etc) the amount of multitasking I gotta do sometimes is pretty insane.

I gotta keep up with emails, data, workers who need new jobs, help with forklift if no one is free etc etc etc and omg its like 5 things at once some days and I have to try to prioritize them in my head to do it in the most efficient order while trying not to forget something. There can be phases where this goes on for weeks and I'm physically mentally exhausted especially when overtime is required

However I cannot complain compared to some jobs out there because at least its a job where I rarely have to keep tabs after work hours (usually 7:00am to 3:30pm unless OT is required) when I go home I can forget about work. Also it's not every day that is as crazy as what I described above it really depends on what kinds of jobs were doing at the time and how many. Some days I can go at an easy pace so overall across the board I cannot complain

It seems like we’re in a way slaves to our jobs..

Does it happens to you guys that when there’s a stressful situation at work it also makes it stressful in your personal life? Like not being able to sleep and what not…

I have recently made the decision of not doing any extra work for my boss, when I try to go the extra mile it always backfires on me  :selena:

I don't think I've shared this on GGD already, I have been suspended from work for a month now cause my boss decided to sue me for my burnout crisis :awkney:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

A little but since I unplug after work it's not too bad. However my real life can stress me at work more so :selena:

Also I wouldn't say my company is a slave driver. I just have a higher position and it comes with the territory. I could ask for a demotion but I prefer to stress myself than get a pay cut :neyde: No one else really has to multitask so much except maybe the forklift driver at times when everything must be moved at once :enigma:
