  1. 1. Title

    • As huge as Shallow, worldwide success, joins the league of Bad Romance, Shallow, Poker Face
    • A commercial success, a la Rain On Me, Billie's No Time to Die, but not in the diamond-certified league.
    • Critical success, a la Til It Happens to You and Beyonce's "Be Alive", but no commercial impact.
    • Will be ignored and forgotten down the road, a la Ariana's "Just Look Up" and Diane Warren's 12 other Oscar nominations.
    • Will be cancelled last minute.

I think it could be a cute hit but I think we need to manage our expectations. Shallow was used in the trailer of a movie with Gaga’s first leading role so there was so much more built in excitement amongst even casual Gaga fans. I think this time around the LMs will support but I don’t know if we can count on the GP. This movie looks like it’s aimed at straight guys and maybe gheys who like atom Cruise but I don’t think the audience overlap is as much as ASIB.

Probably a critical success, but mostly ignored by the general public. Won't be a Shallow or a Rain On Me. Will be like a Marry the Night or 911 with performance, but receive accolades.

Can we even hear it first? How is it incorporated in the movie? Would be better if she was in the film visually, singing it. Also better if it is used to advance the plot, during the movie, not just end credits.

Is the movie going to have any young muscles showing off? There were alot of factors at play in the original movie. We don't know if this movie has any of them yet.

I don't want any leaks either. Last thing they need is for people to have played the song too many times before the movie is even shown.

Girls and boys. Men and women. You need to know that Avatar, the biggest movie of all time, had a theme song that bombed (Leona Lewis). Ariana did two soundtracks to two record-breaking movies (Beauty and the Beast and Don't Look Up) and both flopped, Celine Dion had a cute lil song for Deadpool 2 and it flopped, the entire soundtrack to The Lion King by Beyoncé flopped even though the movie is among the ten biggest hits of all time and both Sam Smith's and Billie Eilish's Bond themes didn't do so well. And isn't Skyfall the biggest Bond movie ever? Well, Adele's song didn't even go #1 in the US. Rihanna's Sledgehammer, a soundtrack to a hit Star Trek movie, also flopped.

There have literally been gazillion examples of movie soundtracks that flop. Shallow is a rare feat. In other words, just because the movie will be a hit doesn't mean Gaga's song will be. And if Gaga's song becomes a hit it's not because of the movie either.

The song and Gaga's status will determine how big this song is. A hit movie rarely makes a hit song.

I hope the song features in the main trailer of the movie which should be out before it’s wide release. Shallow was huge also because of the great impact it made from the trailer to ASIB.

I think it's VERY unlikely to have another Smashallow, but it could do ROM numbers if it has any promo outside the movie itself. :oprah:

I think it can peak top 15 and have some longevity but it will have unusual chart performance because I dont think radio will play much new Gaga music. So it will keep collecting great streams but slowly. It will have sort of like a Mirriones Reazones run I think.

Will be a Shallow sized smasha and OGH will cry “No Tom Cruise no hit” while smashing their madonna MDNA Tour merch and the  DVDs of her panned movies out of anger

ROM and Shallow aren't in the same category at all though:enigma: Shallow destroys ROM any day

A mild success me thinks. :zilla:

I mean it’s hard to gauge since we haven’t heard the song yet.

The cancelled last minute option :air: noooo

Without even hearing a snippet I guess I'll say the middle one to keep my expectations low.. but I'm super hoping for a memorable song like Shallow that gets a lot of radio play :legend:

But it has to be tied into something important in the movie plot for it to get big. Both Shallow and Take My Breath Away had the romance in the movie (well I haven't seen Top Gun but just going by the mv)

Rain on me levels. It's normal to have expectations cause this seems to be a huge project, but keep them till we actually hear the song :cryga:

Those of you thinking in an Oscar already make me laugh so hard :billie:

True!

And on the other hand movies can bombed yet create successful songs like with Madonna's who's that girl movie & song.
