I think he's just kinda missing the point of twitter. Maybe ten years ago people followed all these celebs on Twitter to keep up with their life. But nowadays twitter is all about discussing the most current events, world news, tv shows, pop culture moments etc. That's where most of the engagement is and it's more active than ever.
