Can I point out, as a non-binary person myself, that enby people can use any pronouns or names etc that they feel comfortable win? Non-binary isn’t exclusively a third gender, it means u identify out of the gender binary and we really need to stop policing people’s gender identity and expression.

In this instance I feel there's a huge difference between Demi and a regular person identifying as non-binary who uses any pronouns or names they feel comfortable with.

Demi is a celebrity who put out press statements and gave full interviews about their queer identity, and has made it the core part of their public persona since. They have taken up space, have held the microphone in the press and has actively muddled and made a mockery of the queer experience to cis-het folks who have limited exposure to the LGBTQ+ community. They have a responsibility as someone with the media reach they have, and Demi is unequivocally failing.

I'm not policing their gender identity and expression. I'm calling them out for what they are CLEARLY doing, which is speaking over so many trans and non-binary folks who are being attacked in America by their own government while posting thirst traps on twitter and doing NOTHING with their platform to help.

Mark my words, with the latest "groomer" thing growing in right wing media Fox News will make a talking point out of the fact that Demi asserted they/them pronouns while saying "daddy's little girl".
