We're only 10% of the population give us a break.

Most of the times it's the artists who puts themselves against another one, we just follow, with the rest of the people who finds pop culture interesting.

The issue is much bigger than just gay men comparing women. It’s human nature to compare things you are interested in, which unfortunately often ends up perpetuating rivalries.  Straight men do it all the time with athletes. And even my straight girl friends would do it with certain bands (1 Direction vs The Wanted vs 5 seconds of summer etc). K-Pop stans are notorious for this sort of behavior as well. A lot of gay men just happen to be passionate about female pop stars and feel the need to make it known that the one they stan is “the best”. It's definitely toxic, but it's just an inherent facet of human nature that's always existed. Not just exclusive to gay men.

Well, the gays always stan a woman, popstars/singers/actresses are like our religion, and people in general likes to put religions against each other, the same with political parties or football clubs, but this is ridiculous because they're womans, humans, not object of feuds or rivalities, but that's how our brain works, put someone under our faves to feel like we stan the better person

its not the gays, its everyone - because we live in a patriarchal society and were programmed that there can only be one top female in any given area. the psychology is much more intricate than any of us understand. but lets not act like we dont pit men against each other, bezos vs musk, biden vs trump, MJ vs prince - its a natural human reaction to wonder who is on top and yall need to stop making every little thing a "social issue" because there are actual social issues regarding sexism and inequality that need to be address not BS when it concerns two ultra rich pop stars.
