Future Lovers 6,927
Amy Schumer performed a stand-up comedy set at Las Vegas’ Mirage Theater on April 2, where she continued to discuss Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards. Schumer co-hosted the ceremony alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. The comedian wrote on social media following the Oscars that she was “still triggered and traumatized” by Smith’s slap. Schumer then ran down some of the jokes that proved too controversial for the Oscars telecast, including bits about Joe Rogan and James Franco. One joke found Schumer addressing Alec Baldwin and the fatal shooting on the set of “Rust.” Schumer told the crowd ahead of the jokes, “I want to preface these Oscar jokes by saying that my lawyer said not to say these. Don’t tell anybody and don’t get mad at me.” “’Don’t Look Up’ is the name of a movie? More like don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun,” Schumer said. “I wasn’t allowed to say any of that [at the Oscars], but you can just come up and [slap] someone. “So much pain in Will Smith,” Schumer added. “Anyway, I’m still in shock and stunned and sad. I’m proud of myself and my cohosts. But yeah. Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed.” x
Future Lovers 6,927
Her being “traumatized” by a slap but perfectly fine to joke about someone’s accidental murder….what the **** is wrong with her. The joke isn’t even clever??
ShayCristoforo 10,607
If Chris Rock can't get away with a mild joke aimed at a pretentious gorgon, Amy definitely wouldn't be able to get away with this. Also, this joke is not even funny (to me). It's just shocking in a bad way. Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
Kimmo 80,775
That joke was not funny… since someone died. Plus the story of Will she’s using as an excuse don’t really correlate… Is she implying that Will ask the Academy if it was ok to slap Chris? And they said yes? The joke isn’t even clever?? I think it was Wanda Sykes who said she was still mildly traumatized, but yes, this would've been a dreadful joke to make. ETA: Okay, so they both seem to have been somewhat traumatized.
PawsUpJago 1,956
Literally what is the point of her? Thats such a lame joke too. Not even the grim subject matter, it's just a shitty joke. You shouldn't be making savage jokes like that especially if it has zero payoff, then you're just an asshole really
Dojo 19,365
so all the jokes were pre-approved
nickkoko 922
First of all, it's not funny. Second, it doesn't even really make sense as Baldwin had nothing to do with Don't Look Up so there's no link between the setup and "punch line".

elijahfan 26,311
Aren't comedians supposed to be funny? When did it suddenly turn into a who's gonna say the most revolting thing contest?
