Adele has 2 noms/wins (very interestingly, she has won EVERY SINGLE Grammy she’s been nominated for since 2012. Wow.) Gaga has 4 noms. I think most people view Adele and Beyonce on this higher-level god status, but this statistic makes me realize that nobody can compete with Gaga’s staying power. She may not have won the top prize yet, but she sure as hell knows how to consistently produce good work over the years. I feel that way too. But its kinda mixed for me. I know tony means so much to her and she would be really happy but then the whole fan bashing would start that she needs features n other people. Even if it werent for it she has stunning albums that were snubbed. But id also be happy for her to win a big award. It’s an inarguably legendary singer pairing with Gaga and their chemistry on the record is playful and amazing. Their versions of the songs snap to life and the whole record is incredibly consistent and fun. Just because it’s not everyone’s favourite genre doesn’t mean it’s not deserving. It’s actually given me a new appreciation of jazz in general. And I bet this type of music appeals to a lot of people including older academy members. Just because it’s not GGD’s fave doesn’t mean it’s not deserving. We don’t actually rule the world, even though at times it feels we should. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
